Maryland is divided into 47 legislative districts, with each district represented by 1 senator and 3 delegates. District 17 includes Rockville, Gaithersburg, and some additional portions of Montgomery County.
Voters have the opportunity to vote for up to 3 delegates on their primary election ballot. The 3 candidates receiving the highest number of votes from each party’s primary will appear on the general election ballot.
